Kathy Alonso x 101, Partner
Kathy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and attended graduate school at Florida Atlantic University.
Kathy is the secertary of the Broward Chapter of the FICPA an active member of the American Institute of CPA’s. She is also a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and attends their annual national convention.
Kathy’s advanced accounting experience began in private practice during 1990 with a local south Florida commercial property management, leasing and developing company. There she implemented and maintained a new accounting system, established corporate policies and procedures, and hired, trained and supervised accounting personal. During 2000, she continued her real estate experience in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), an international accounting firm where she served clients in all areas of the real estate and the hotel management industry. While at PwC, she also gained additional training/experience as a manager in charge of benefit plan audits. In November 2005, Kathy decided to take her experience and continue her career on her own by starting her own firm in Deerfield Beach, FL. Today she has a wide range of clients providing professional services including consulting, audit/attest, and corporate/ individual income tax with a focus on audits of benefit plans and real estate accounting and consulting.
Steve Alonso x 102, Consultant & Marketing Director
Steve is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Florida and performs various functions including marketing, web design, and networking. Steve also assists clients in the real estate industry and performs various consulting engagements.
Salvatore Catanese, CPA x103, Audit Manager
Salvatore ("Sal") holds a Bachelor of of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College in NY and is a CPA in the State of Florida and New York.
Prior to joining our firm, Sal worked at CBIZ (Goldstein - Lewin Division) in Boca Raton for 4 years. Before 2006, he worked at various CPA firms over a 18 year period including Grant Thornton in NY and then McGladrey & Pullen in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Sal was brought into the firm in 2010 to work exclusively on benefit plan audits.
Shelda Seche x104, Staff Accountant
Shelda obtained her Bachelor degree in Finance & Real Estate from Florida Atlantic University in May 2008. Shelda is currently working on her accounting degree at Florida Atlantic University and plans to sit for her CPA exam before the end of 2010. Shelda provides accounting services to several of our clients as well as assisting with our other engagements.
Prior to joining our firm during the summer of 2008, she worked for 5 years as an executive assistant at VM Mortgage of South Florida & Investment, Inc.
Yvette McPherson x106, Tax Manager
Yvette obtained her Bachelor degree in Accounting from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. She provides tax compliance, research and planning for our medium to large-sized clients and also assists in our client’s FAS 109 (income tax provision) preparation and analysis.
Prior to joining our firm, she worked from 2000 – 2006, as a Manager for Office Depot’s tax department. Yvette primarily worked on the federal audit defense, FAS 109 and other federal tax projects.
